About Us

On April 28th, 1867, twelve women at Monmouth College in Monmouth, Illinois came together to found Pi Beta Phi. Pi Beta Phi was the first national secret collegiate society for women modeled after the men's Greek-letter fraternity system. Each year, thousands of women become members of Pi Beta Phi by joining one of our more than 130 chapters across North America. The Mississippi Gamma chapter of Pi Beta Phi was founded at Mississippi State University in 2009. From building meaningful friendships to exemplifying our core values in our daily endeavors and serving our local community, the Mississippi Gamma chapter is dedicated to upholding Pi Beta Phi's national mission of developing friends and leaders for life. Every August, the Mississippi Gamma chapter of Pi Beta Phi returns to campus with excitement, ready to begin recruitment and to meet the amazing women who could soon become our sisters. To join Pi Phi, potential new members must have a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale. Beyond academics, our members commit to staying in good standing with Mississippi State and Pi Phi while actively engaging in our sisterhood, service projects, and campus events.
