Mississippi Gamma was ordained the weekend of April 3–5, 2009 at Mississippi State University. The charter was received at the 2009 Dallas Convention. All of the installation events were held in the Colvard Student Union on Mississippi State University’s campus. Mississippi Gamma's house was the first Greek house in the nation to be LEED certified (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design). With this distinction, the house was recognized by the U.S. Green Building Council with a LEED Silver certification for new construction. Ground was broken on April 8, 2010, and the women moved in 2011.
